I received my MD at the Tecnológico de Monterrey (2014) and obtained clinical experience in psychiatry and neurology at the Hospital San José and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Unit (México). In 2017 I completed a MSc in Neurosciences at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) focusing on the study of the molecular changes in the brain after stress exposure. Now I am a PhD candidate in Neurosciences at the UAB.
I am interested in identifying the mechanistic molecular basis underlying anxiety and mood disorders by particularly studying the effect of the pharmacological and pharmacogenetic manipulation of the Tac2 pathway and Nociceptin. I’m also interested in exploring the influence that hormones have on behavior using functional neuroimaging and neurophysiological measurements.
